This is one of the areas where it is easiest to understand why C\u00f3rdoba was a strategic river port for centuries: the Roman Bridge itself, built in the 1st century B.C. and rebuilt several times since then, remains the pedestrian bridge connecting the Jewish Quarter with the Campo de la Verdad neighborhood on the other side of the river\u2014now also known for having served as a filming location for the series *Game of Thrones* under the name Volantis.<\/p>\n

Eating here isn’t just about the view: it’s about sitting at the exact spot where the Roman, Caliphate, and modern cities overlap.<\/p>\n

When to go:<\/strong> The terrace is especially recommended in the late afternoon (starting at 8:00 p.m. in the summer), when the sun is no longer beating down on the river and the golden light illuminates the mosque\u2019s facade from across the water.<\/p>\n

What to order here:<\/strong> Since it\u2019s an open-air terrace with a higher table turnover during peak season, it works especially well with dishes meant for sharing\u2014salmorejo, flamenqu\u00edn, hand-sliced ham\u2014before moving on to a main course like oxtail.
